Toronto’s newest bagel shop serves wood-fired Old Montréal style bagels

There are so many different types of bagels and bagel shops in Toronto, but one spot is serving wood-fired, true authentic Montréal-style bagels, @bageltime

Bagel Time serves handmade artisan bagels that are baked fresh daily to serve the people of Toronto. Owner, Irfan Khan, opened up shop after spending many years at respected bagel shops, Fairmount Bakery and St. Viateur.

But what exactly is Montréal-style bagels? The bagel-making process starts right at 4 a.m, and the baker prepares a fresh set of ingredients to create the dough before it is hand-rolled, boiled in honey water, then coated with sesame, poppy, garlic and onion depending on the type of bagel being prepared.

The final step in this strenuous process is to bake the bagel to perfection using and only using, a wood-fired oven. This creates the fresh, crispy texture and deems it authentically, Montréal-style.

Bagel Time also offers gluten-free and vegan bagels to cater to all Torontonians and it’s even one of their main specialties!

Prices vary per bagel, but they are generally $5.75 for a half-dozen and $10.99 for a dozen bagels.

Be sure to also try their absolutely delicious sandwiches such as the famous Lox & Cream cheese, Montréal Smoke Meat, Smoked Turkey, Roast beef and veggie sandwiches. They also provide fresh espresso coffee made in-house.

Bagel time just opened their second location right in the heart of Bloor, both locations operate 6AM to 10PM everyday and below are the address locations:
